Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Operator to join our operations team in the United States. You will operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while protecting public health and the environment.

This role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude. Licensing progression within company policy offers increasing pay across D, C, B, and A licenses as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SCADA systems, pumps, motors and laboratory testing procedures.
• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and operate PIT/yard truck within safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections of plant processes and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Collect and analyze wastewater samples; record and interpret data to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Adjust chemical feeds, flows, and processes as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues; perform minor repairs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
• Respond to emergency calls-outs or after-hours situations as required.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to protecting public health and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections of plant processes and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Collect and analyze wastewater samples; record and interpret data to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Adjust chemical feeds, flows, and processes as needed.

What You'll Need:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred;
• Requirements: Valid Driver's License in good standing; Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to operate PIT and yard truck.

• Licensing Requirements:
  • Team members working in a full-treatment wastewater facility are required to obtain the following license levels within the timeframes established by company policy:
    • D License: Within 1 year of hire.
    • C License: Within 3 years of hire.
    • B License: Within 6 years of hire.
    • A License: Optional and may be obtained at the team member's discretion.

• Experience: Knowledge of SCADA systems, pumps, motors and laboratory testing procedures
• Physical requirements: Ability to work in extreme Cold/Hot temperatures, a ability to lift up to 50 pounds while standing, bending and working in tight spaces.
