Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Wastewater Supervisor to lead water and wastewater treatment, bi-products shipment, and storm water prevention. The role includes developing cost-efficient standards for the department and supervising operators to maximize quality and productivity.

You will manage sampling protocols for regulatory reporting, coordinate with city agencies, and drive continuous improvement across the department within a poultry processing environment.

Qualifications

• Post–secondary education with courses in water/wastewater, biology, chemistry, or related subject material and one to three years of experience in water and wastewater systems.
• Possess, or willing to obtain within one year, a pre-treatment wastewater operator’s license.
• Fork-lift trainer certification or willing to obtain within one year.
• Poultry processing experienced preferred.
• Experience in driving a tractor/trailer; willingness to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good organizational and prioritization skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Leadership and people development experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the water treatment, wastewater treatment, and offal and feather screen area.
• Train and motivate operators to achieve maximum quality and productivity in their positions.
• Manage daily sampling protocol on Phosphorus, TSS, BOD, and FOG to satisfy regulatory reporting compliance.
• Compile water, wastewater, and storm water prevention reports, inspections and records for EPA and DNR compliance.
• Act as liaison with City of Arcadia Water/Wastewater Department and City Utility Commission; provide monthly DMR report.
• Complete Discharge Monitoring Report for the city on a monthly basis.
• Develop and implement goals and budgets; monitor variances.
• Research and develop cost-efficient standards for the department.
• Maintain equipment; direct maintenance and sanitation.
• Oversee scheduling, movement, and loading of bi-product trailers.
• Monitor water usage and waste; optimize sampling and water reuse; drive improvements.
• Certify forklift operators.
• Assist other departments in water reuse, quality, and continuous improvement projects.
• Support Environmental Audits and Operational Excellence programs.
