Job summary

Pleasants Power Station is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment systems ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will perform inspections, adjust processes, sample and test waters, and maintain equipment to support safe discharge or reuse.

The role emphasizes accurate data logging, adherence to environmental health standards, and proactive maintenance to minimize disruptions while protecting public health.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, or production operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (biological, chemical, physical) is beneficial.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and interpret data from monitoring systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, filters, and related equipment.
• Perform daily inspections of plant facilities and equipment.
• Collect samples, run analyses, and adjust treatment processes accordingly.
• Document operations data and observations accurately.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as needed.
• Comply with EPA and state permit conditions and safety regulations.
• Calibrate chemical feed systems and monitor chemical inventories.
• Support spill containment and emergency response efforts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant facilities.
