Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Superintendent-Treatment Operations to oversee the daily operation of wastewater treatment facilities and related plants in accordance with regulatory guidelines. The role includes staffing, budgeting, safety, and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree with five years’ progressive experience in construction, water, or wastewater, plus a TCEQ Class B license on hire and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree plus five years’ progressive experience in construction, water, and/or wastewater.
• TCEQ Class “B” Wastewater Operator License upon hire.
• Valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License.
• Pass a physical examination for chemical hazards and respiratory protection.
• Or High School Diploma / GED plus eight years’ progressive experience, including two years in a supervisory/lead role.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operation of the wastewater treatment facility or recycled water/odor control facilities.
• Maintains records and ensures regulatory reporting is complete and accurate.
• Supervises, develops, trains, and evaluates assigned staff; recommends corrective actions up to termination.
