Job summary

The City of Taylor Public Works is seeking an Assistant Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent to manage daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, collection systems, and Industrial Pre-Treatment program. You will supervise staff, coordinate projects, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, field inspections, and coordinating with state/federal agencies; handling emergencies and preparing reports and quotes for equipment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machinery, sewer system operations and equipment.
• Understanding of state and federal regulations for maintenance and construction of sewer systems.
• Experience with activated sludge treatment facilities and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations.
• Coordinate with contractors on construction projects and electrical/SCADA issues.
• Supervise Wastewater and Maintenance personnel and maintain staff records.
• Train and schedule employees; ensure safe methods and practices are followed.
• Submit purchase requests and manage inventory; respond to citizen concerns.
