Job summary

The Cortez Sanitation District in Southwest Colorado is seeking a Wastewater Plant Supervisor with a strong technical background in wastewater operations. SCADA experience is preferred.

This leadership role ensures regulatory compliance and safety while optimizing plant processes at a 1.6 MGD activated sludge, extended aeration facility. Responsibilities include directing daily operations, maintaining regulatory filings, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in wastewater plant operations.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Class A Wastewater Certification required.
• Class B CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility and operations staff.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
• Monitor, evaluate, and optimize plant performance and treatment processes.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, training programs, and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, regulatory filings, and performance summaries.
