Job summary

Veolia North America in Crockett, CA is seeking a skilled Wastewater Plant Operator to oversee daily operation and maintenance of our treatment facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, safe work practices, and efficient performance.

The ideal candidate holds a California SWRCB Wastewater Operator Certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least 2 years of related experience; familiarity with filter press operations and SCADA systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• California SWRCB Wastewater Operator Certification (required).
• High school diploma or GED; environmental science/engineering degree a plus.
• At least 2 years of wastewater treatment experience.
• Familiarity with filter press operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust plant processes via SCADA and control interfaces.
• Analyze data from meters and analytical equipment to optimize operations.
• Perform routine laboratory testing of water samples for discharge permits.
• Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, clarifiers, aeration tanks, digesters and related equipment.
• Operate and maintain the filter press for sludge dewatering and monitor feed pressure and cake thickness.
