Job summary

The Cortez Sanitation District in Southwest Colorado seeks an experienced Wastewater Plant Supervisor with a strong technical background in wastewater operations. SCADA experience is preferred and a passion for problem solving is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive wastewater treatment plant operations experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Colorado Class A Wastewater Certification or equivalent with reciprocity required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility and staff.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
• Monitor, evaluate, and optimize plant performance and treatment processes.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, training programs, and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, regulatory filings, and performance summaries.
