Job summary

Delaware County OH is seeking a Supervisor to manage the operation of regional wastewater facilities. The role reports to the Operations Superintendent and requires a combination of degree or extensive experience and Ohio EPA operator certifications.

The candidate will supervise staff, coordinate maintenance and safety, and ensure regulatory compliance across facilities. A valid driver’s license is required and adherence to budgeting and reporting duties is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires Ohio EPA Class III Wastewater Operator certificate.
• Must obtain Ohio EPA Class IV certificate within 36 months of hire to maintain employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of regional wastewater facility or multiple plants.
• Supervises staff: assign work, plan, monitor performance, train employees.
• Ensures efficient operation; analyzes and implements operational changes.
• Maintains lab activities and laboratory safety per regulations.
• Prepares and reviews reports and budget-related items.
• Coordinates procurement and bid specifications for equipment and services.
• Plans schedules, oversees overtime and leave, and ensures compliance.
• Attends inspections and meetings as required.
