Job summary

Veolia North America in Lynn, MA seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Technician Trainee to join our team. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in operating and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant while working closely with experienced technicians.

You will learn processes, assist with equipment maintenance, monitor compliance, collect samples, and participate in safety and documentation activities. Strong teamwork and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment desirable.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand principles and processes of wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Assist in operation and maintenance of pumps, valves, blowers, and chemical feed systems.
• Monitor treatment processes to meet regulatory standards and permits.
• Perform routine inspections and tests to assess efficiency.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing wastewater samples for lab testing.
• Support repairs and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Attend trainings to enhance skills in wastewater operations.
• Maintain accurate records of plant operations and maintenance.
