Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator to manage daily operation and maintenance of a treatment facility. Responsibilities include SCADA-based process control, data analysis, and routine lab testing to ensure permit compliance.

The role covers inside/outside operations, filter press handling, and adherence to environmental and safety regulations. A California wastewater cert is preferred; 2+ years of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in wastewater treatment or related field.
• Familiarity with filter press operations and dewatering processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust plant processes using SCADA systems and control interfaces.
• Analyze data from flow meters and analytical equipment to optimize operations.
• Perform routine laboratory testing of water samples for discharge compliance.
• Document plant performance and maintenance in logs and reports.
• Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, clarifiers, aeration tanks and digesters.
• Operate and maintain the filter press, monitoring feed pressure and cake thickness.
• Respond to emergencies and comply with environmental/safety regulations.
