Job summary

The City of Conroe is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator responsible for the operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant. Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience, valid Texas Class 'B' driver’s license, and a current class 'C' Wastewater Certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience in wastewater treatment operations.
• Possess a valid Texas Class 'B' commercial driver's license within six months of hire.
• Hold a current Class 'C' Wastewater Certification issued by the Texas Commission.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations, maintenance, and repairs at the wastewater treatment plant.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and the public.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for compliance.

Skills

Knowledge of heavy construction equipment

Knowledge of computer software and programs

Knowledge of wastewater pumps and control systems

Good communication skills

Ability to lift weights of 50 pounds alone

Ability to work in various outdoor conditions

Education

Minimum three years experience in wastewater treatment

Texas Class 'B' commercial driver's license
