Job summary

The City of Pharr is seeking a Full-Time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our onsite team. You will monitor plant operations, inspect equipment, and collect and analyze wastewater samples to ensure regulatory compliance and environmental safety.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to obtain a TCEQ Class D license within one year; a Texas Class C driver's license is also required. The position offers benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to obtain TCEQ Class D Wastewater Operator's license with 1 year.
• Texas Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and chemical processes in wastewater treatment.
• Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions.
• Collect and analyze sewage samples using analytical test equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations and maintenance; record meter readings.
• Perform general janitorial duties to maintain plant facilities.
• Work with minimal supervision to contribute to a safe, clean environment.
