Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and less than one year of related experience in wastewater operations.
Possession of a valid Class D license with one year of relevant experience may qualify for Treatment Technician II.
Possession of a valid Class C license with two years of relevant experience may qualify for Treatment Technician III.
Possession of a valid Class B license with three years of relevant experience may qualify for Treatment Technician IV.
Possession of a valid Class A license with five years of relevant experience may qualify for Treatment Technician V.

Responsibilities

Operates equipment and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on sewage treatment plant equipment.
Removes stoppages and clears refuse from sewage treatment plants and conducts routine visual checks.
Collects wastewater samples and runs DO, CL2 residual, pH, and other tests with interpretation.
Oversees laboratory hygiene and calibrates flow meters as needed.
Operates vehicles, power tools, and performs daily maintenance checks.
