City of Stevens Point seeks a Wastewater Operator to manage the operation and maintenance of sewage treatment facilities, collect samples, generate DNR reports, and ensure safety and compliance. This full‑time role requires lab work, SCADA experience, and the ability to work standby on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two+ years' experience operating a sewage treatment plant.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical repair.
• Laboratory procedures experience.
• Knowledge of collection systems.
• NIMS training completed.
• Wastewater internship/apprenticeship.
• Ability to operate SCADA.
• Ability to pass post‑offer physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain chemical feed systems.
• Prepare accurate DNR reports.
• Repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect lift stations and biosolids handling.
• Collect samples and perform wastewater math.
• Operate biosolids equipment and perform lab tests.
• Maintain records and prepare detailed reports.
• Be on-call and standby for emergencies and weekends.
