Job summary

The City of Stevens Point is seeking a skilled wastewater operator to oversee the wastewater treatment facility under supervision. Applicants should have a wastewater degree or related field, DNR certification, and strong plant operations knowledge.

Duties include operating chemical feed systems, reporting, maintenance, sampling, and on-call responses. Two or more years of relevant experience and the ability to work holidays and weekends are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher with wastewater-related education.
• Wastewater degree or related field and DNR certification are required or preferred.
• Experience with lab testing and wastewater analyses is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain chemical feed systems.
• Prepare accurate DNR reports and plant records.
• Perform mechanical and minor electrical repairs.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair lift stations.
• Maintain Weather Service Station and collect plant samples.
• Read meters, log readings, and monitor operations.
• Handle biosolids processing and laboratory tests.
• Respond to alarms and on-call emergencies; work holidays and weekends as needed.
