Job summary

Water Otter Job Board seeks a wastewater treatment plant operator in North Carolina. The role focuses on monitoring plant operations, sampling, lab tests, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe discharge and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, no experience required, and a valid NC driver’s license. The license (NC Biological Wastewater Operator: Grade I) or the ability to obtain it within three test attempts is required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Basic knowledge of lab equipment and testing.
• Basic wastewater calculations and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes wastewater samples; reviews results and adjusts operations.
• Monitors plant processes and makes necessary adjustments.
• Learns key elements of operating the plant and safety practices.
• Assists with maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.
• Keeps facilities clean, neat, and safe.
• Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle as needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
