Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to direct preventive and corrective maintenance at the Treatment Plant, Pumping Stations, and CSO facilities. You will plan, schedule, and supervise tasks, coach the crew, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role involves both mechanical and minor electrical work, with potential field travel and on-call requirements. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, welding fabrication experience, and a Grade II Operators

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Steel fabrication and welding experience may be required, if necessary, at site.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; vocational training and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with PPE and site safety protocols (respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment).
• Must enter data in CMMS and maintain accurate records.
• Must obtain Grade II Operators Certificate within 6 months.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• OSHA training and emergency response training as required.
• Forklift certification if site requires it; may perform advanced tasks during training.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and directs maintenance on mechanical equipment, buildings, grounds.
• Coaches and trains team members to improve productivity, safety, quality, and processes.
• Trains team to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Performs mechanical and minor electrical work on treatment plant equipment.
• Decides remedial action in emergencies and documents work orders in CMMS.
• May fabricate devices from steel and handle welding tasks.
• May assist with inventory, parts, and training new personnel.
