Job summary

SAN ANTONIO RIVER AUTHORITY is seeking a Maintenance Operator I-V in Converse, TX. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and repairs of wastewater plant equipment and vehicles, with duties spanning plumbing, electrical work, and outfall line support.

You will work to meet safety expectations and support plant operations. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus relevant maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 1 year of progressively responsible experience in operation, maintenance, and construction of collection systems.
• Qualified candidates with Class D Wastewater Operator License or Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and 1 year of relevant experience may qualify for Maintenance Operator II.
• Qualified candidates with Class D Wastewater Operator License and Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and 2 years of relevant experience may qualify for Maintenance Operator III.
• Qualified candidates with Class C/D/B Wastewater Operator License and Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and 3–5 years of experience may qualify for higher operator levels.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance on plant equipment, repairs and replaces motors and gearboxes.
• Repairs pumps, regenerates filters, and maintains electrical equipment.
• Maintains and services vehicles including oil changes, brakes, and tires.
• Troubleshoots equipment and assists with outfall line stoppages and collection systems.
• Operates power tools and hand tools; assists with special projects such as hauling and welding.
