Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; NYS certification is preferred for experienced applicants. The position emphasizes safety, recordkeeping, and ongoing training in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous wastewater treatment experience preferred, but not required.
• NYS Wastewater Operator Certification preferred for experienced applicants.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with facility operations, including working outdoors and lifting equipment or materials as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
• Monitor treatment processes, equipment, and system performance.
• Collect samples, perform routine testing, and maintain accurate operational records.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on pumps, motors, and other treatment equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental regulations.
• Complete required documentation and operational reports.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
