Job summary

Hopewell is seeking an Operator who will perform intermediate tasks to learn and operate wastewater treatment plant equipment, perform routine tests, and maintain the plant and grounds under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring engines, pumps, aerators, and filters; collecting samples; and recording data. The role requires basic technical skills and a willingness to learn regulatory requirements and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with minimal experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining machinery and equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant equipment, including engines, pumps, aerators, tanks and filters.
• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and solids handling processes.
• Document sampling, analysis, and logs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Record meter readings and operate handheld meters; maintain shift records.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
