Job summary

Inframark in Elkton, MD is seeking a Wastewater Operator I to operate and maintain equipment in wastewater treatment facilities. You will perform routine tests, monitor processes, document plant performance, and respond to emergencies as needed.

The role requires the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and on-call, with the potential for progression as you gain Licenses/Certifications in water or wastewater.

Qualifications

• Willingness to study prerequisites to obtain water/wastewater certification.
• Knowledge of process control techniques and safe practices.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on treatment equipment.
• Familiarity with regulatory rules governing water/wastewater operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate pumps, valves, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment and vehicles.
• Conduct routine testing, monitoring and basic laboratory analyses.
• Document treatment processes, plant performance and chemical usage.
• Respond to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness, security and provide customer service as needed.
• Work all shifts including weekends, holidays and 24-hour on-call.
• Adhere to SOPs and manage multiple tasks.
