Job summary

City of Oxnard is seeking a Wastewater Operator I to join the Operations team. You will monitor plant and field processes, record data, collect samples, and assist with routine tests and maintenance in a 24/7 treatment facility.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of plant operations experience. A CA Class C driver's license is required, with opportunities for training in state operator certificates as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of treatment plant operations experience.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant and field processes and alarms for control.
• Keep operation logs, meter readings, and records.
• Collect samples and perform routine tests in the central lab when needed.
• Perform general plant, building and grounds maintenance and housekeeping.
