Job summary

The City of Oxnard is seeking qualified Wastewater Operators to join the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations team. Openings include Operator I, II, III, and Senior Wastewater Operator, with opportunities across different levels to support safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations.

Operators will work with Operations, Maintenance, Collections, and Laboratory staff to monitor, analyze, and optimize treatment processes, perform routine sampling, and maintain detailed records and

Qualifications

• Experience with wastewater treatment operations and monitoring systems.
• Ability to operate and interpret meters, gauges, and control panels.
• Knowledge of CMMS and WIMS systems such as Hach WIMS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate wastewater treatment systems to meet discharge permits.
• Take readings from meters, gauges, and control panels and adjust processes within parameters.
• Collect samples and perform routine biological, chemical, and field analyses; record results.
• Maintain operation logs, shift reports, sampling records, regulatory records and other documentation.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of plant equipment.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for repairs and assist in audits.
• Provide training to other operators as applicable.
• Enter and analyze information using CMMS and Hach WIMS.
• Support inventory and supply needs to keep operations uninterrupted.
