Job summary

Veolia North America seeks an entry to mid-level Water/Wastewater Plant Operator in Mississippi to participate in the operation, maintenance, and repair of treatment facilities. The role involves monitoring equipment, collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining records to support regulatory compliance.

You will assist in treatment processes, plant lab analyses, and equipment upkeep, with responsibilities including safety procedures and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some water/wastewater experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with team and management professionally.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates wastewater treatment plant equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, blowers, and chemical feed equipment; collects samples, runs tests and keeps records.
• Participates in treatment processes, plant laboratory analyses and operation and maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Ensures that all plant records and reports are completed and maintained accurately and on time.
• Furnishes necessary assistance to regulatory representatives inspecting the plant.
• Adjusts or alters chemical treatment of plant processes as required.
• Responds to and controls accidental releases of hazardous liquids and gases; performs confined space entries as required.
• Daily observation of pump and motor operation and logging data into a computer.
