Job summary

WhiteWater in the northeast provides wastewater operations and maintenance services and seeks an Assistant Manager, Wastewater who will coordinate field activities, assist with planning, scheduling, documentation, and reporting to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant system performance.

This role supports the Manager, Wastewater and supervises field personnel, with requirements including a relevant degree, MassDEP Grade 2 license (or six-month approval), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 2-year or 4-year degree in wastewater, environmental, regulatory, or scientific field preferred, with supervisory experience.
• Massachusetts Wastewater Grade 2 License or ability to obtain within six months (company assisted).
• Strong communication with clients, field personnel, and management.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety policies and code of conduct.
• Ensure regulatory and OSHA/EPA/DEP compliance across wastewater operations.
• Support planning, scheduling, and oversight of treatment, collection, and distribution systems.
• Coordinate daily activities of operations, maintenance personnel, and contractors.
• Monitor performance, identify risks, and support corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation, reports, and records.
• Process and track work orders, purchase orders, service requests, and contracts.
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, repairs, startups/shutdowns, and minor capital projects.
• Provide supervisory support to field personnel as needed.
