Job summary

Johnson County Government's Wastewater division is hiring a Maintenance Specialist to support operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility and related pump stations in Overland Park, KS.

You will monitor SCADA data, perform preventative maintenance, collect samples for lab analysis, and assist with electrical and piping tasks. On-call duties and shift work may be required.

The role requires a high school diploma, related maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vo-Tech training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other relevant field preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Math, or other relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document plant and pump station processes to ensure proper operations.
• Perform laboratory analysis for compliance by collecting samples and testing.
• Assist in maintenance of pumps, valves, motors and related equipment.
• Maintain and update operational records, logs and maintenance databases.
• Interact with haulers, drivers and vendors; respond to routine questions from the public.
