Job summary

The City of Lawrence is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator - Maintenance to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment at Lawrence's wastewater facilities. The role includes troubleshooting electrical systems and performing HVAC and building maintenance, with after-hours emergencies.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to obtain a Kansas CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred candidate will have 1–2 years of related experience.
• Must pass background check after offer, City physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Rebuilds and repairs machinery such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves and filters.
• Troubleshoots electrical systems from 110 to 12,470 volts and DC voltages.
• Operates heavy equipment and performs building/grounds maintenance.
• Provides emergency after-hours response.
