Job summary

H2O Innovation in Laurel, Mississippi is seeking a Lift Station Technician to join our public works team. You will maintain and repair lift station pumps, motors, and controls while ensuring reliable wastewater service.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. You will perform preventive maintenance, document service logs, and follow safety procedures in a field-based environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience with pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces/outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of wastewater operations or prior utility/maintenance work is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair lift station pumps, motors and controls.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in pumps and control panels.
• Monitor system performance and respond to alarms or emergency calls.
• Clean and maintain wet wells, valves, and related equipment.
• Keep accurate service logs, reports, and maintenance records.
• Operate hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools safely.
• Follow safety protocols, including confined space and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with other wastewater system repairs as needed.
