Job summary

City of Encinitas is seeking an experienced Utility & Maintenance Supervisor to lead field operations for the Wastewater Division. This role reports to the Utility Superintendent and oversees maintenance, repair, and operation of wastewater and stormwater systems to ensure reliable service while protecting health and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees: assign work, performance reviews, training, and personnel actions.
• Oversee day-to-day operations; prepare master schedules for activities.
• Ensure compliance with NPDES, OSHA, DOHS and related regulations; enforce policies.
• Procure supplies, process invoices, obtain external bids; manage contracts and maintenance programs.
• Prepare reports; maintain records; respond to inquiries and manage complaints.
• Lead budgeting efforts; participate in special projects; act as liaison with other departments and outside agencies.
• Troubleshoot complex problems; perform other duties as assigned.
