Job summary

The City of Escondido invites applications for the Senior Environmental Compliance Inspector in the Utilities Department/Wastewater Division. Qualifications

• Three years of environmental compliance inspection experience.
• Two years of wastewater technology or related field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in wastewater technology, chemistry, biology, environmental engineering, or related discipline is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, train, and review staff work in pretreatment and storm water programs.
• Inspect industrial facilities for compliance with wastewater and storm water regulations.
• Prepare and review permits, discharge reports, and pretreatment system modifications.
• Coordinate with other city departments and agencies on environmental issues.
• Provide information and respond to inquiries from business owners and the public.
