Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Design Manager in Baltimore, MD to lead complex municipal wastewater projects, deliver design and construction services, and market to municipal clients in the Mid and South Atlantic regions.

You will act as a subject matter expert, coordinate multi-discipline design teams, and mentor junior engineers while managing client relationships and pursuing new work opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering field.
• Fifteen (15) + years of relevant experience in municipal wastewater treatment consulting with progression of responsibility in project delivery and business development.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration.
• Existing municipal/private engineering client relationships or ability to develop such relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a subject matter expert in wastewater treatment design.
• Develop project deliverables including coordination of engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Solve complex problems with feasibility evaluations and assess benefits/drawbacks of alternatives for wastewater clients.
• Manage a variety of existing and potential wastewater facility projects.
• Provide excellent client services with focus on quality and timeliness.
• Mentor and develop junior engineering professionals and build project delivery teams.
• Negotiate and manage project scopes of work, schedules and budgets.
• Routinely use internal systems for project management, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies and subconsultants to pursue and execute wastewater projects.
• Identify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients.
• Support office leadership in marketing and pursuit of new wastewater municipal work leads.
• Seek creative solutions to wastewater engineering problems.
