Job summary

The City of Visalia seeks a Wastewater Collection Supervisor to lead crews in the maintenance of sanitary and storm sewer systems. You will schedule, budget, and direct field operations while ensuring safe work practices and timely response to issues.

Ideal candidates will have four years of sewer maintenance experience with two years in supervision, plus a CWEA Grade III certificate. Valid CA driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in sewer systems maintenance and operations, including two (2) years supervisory and budgeting responsibilities.
• Specialized training in sanitary collection maintenance and operations.
• Possession of a CWEA Waste Water Collection Grade III Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules, assigns and directs the work of all sanitary collection maintenance personnel.
• Prepares and coordinates work schedules.
• Determines equipment, materials and staffing needs and prepares division budget.
• Insures the use of safe working methods, techniques and procedures.
• Responsibilities include emergency response and after-hours calls.
• Trains and evaluates subordinates.
