Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to bale and load waste at a landfill site in Texas. You will operate excavator, front loader, bulldozer and other equipment while adhering to safety standards and daily maintenance routines.

The role requires ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and communicate effectively with team members. Ideal candidates have landfill experience, forklift certification, and the ability to obtain related certifications if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease/lubricate equipment and monitor fluid levels daily.
• Steer and operate listed equipment at assigned sites.
• Substitute for other operators as needed.
• Clear debris from tracks and mechanisms as required.
• Use two-way radio to communicate with team about work priorities.
• Comply with all laws, policies, and safety rules.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
