Job summary

Universal Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver to perform front load, side load and roll-off collection in Phoenix, AZ. You will follow routes, operate multiple collection vehicles, and prioritize safety and customer service.

The role requires a valid CDL and DOT medical card, at least one year of refuse truck driving experience, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Training and opportunities for skill development are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of waste and recycling collection practices.
• Basic understanding of truck mechanics and parts.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local health and safety rules and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Learn geography of assigned route and surrounding areas.
• Service trash, recycling, compost and/or mixed waste bins using collection vehicles.
• Clean up spills and overflows and return bins to their proper area.
• Operate vehicles with public safety as a priority.
• Utilize in-cab electronic routing systems to follow route and service requirements.
• Use radio to communicate with dispatch and route supervisors.
• Follow hazardous waste handling procedures and regulations.
• Report accidents, injuries or maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere to safety regulations, policies and procedures.
• Foster teamwork and positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Participate in trainings to enhance skills and service.
