Job summary

Universal Waste Systems is hiring a Trash Truck Driver to operate rear/side/front load or roll-off trucks on a full-time Moriarty, NM route. The role offers hourly pay and a safety‑driven work environment.

Duties include daily pre/post trip inspections, learning route geography, servicing bins, collaborating with dispatch, and following all federal, state and local safety rules. A valid CDL and DOT medical card are required; one year of refuse truck experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of waste and recycling collection principles.
• Basic truck mechanics and parts knowledge.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local health and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Learn geography of assigned route and surrounding areas.
• Service bins using various collection vehicles as required.
• Operate vehicles with public safety as a priority.
• Use in-cab computer systems to follow route requirements.
• Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors via radio.
• Observe safety regulations and disposal procedures per agencies.
• Report accidents, injuries or maintenance promptly.
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Participate in trainings to increase skills and service quality.
