Job summary

Ogden City is seeking a Refuse Operator - Operations to run refuse collection vehicles, perform maintenance on trucks, and support snow/ice operations as needed. The role requires two years of general maintenance experience and a high school diploma or equivalent, with CDL/Class A within 150 days preferred.

Employees must be able to work overtime, respond to emergencies, and participate in safety and recycling education.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of general maintenance experience in field maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating automated refuse collection equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate refuse collection vehicles throughout the city and pick up city refuse and recycling.
• Operate loaders, screeners, skid steers, log splitters, chainsaws, or other equipment used in the Refuse Department.
• Operate hydraulic systems and controls on trucks to complete daily duties.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on trucks issued daily; grease and lubricate moving parts; check fluids.
• Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner and provide information within the area of assignment.
• Be available for overtime and recall during snow/ice control operations or emergencies.
