Job summary

Ogden City Economic Development Division is seeking a Part-time Maintenance Worker to support the Refuse and Green Waste facilities. Duties include operating equipment, assisting with green waste operations, and delivering courteous, safe customer service.

The role requires up to 29 hours per week, Saturdays required, and a valid Utah driver’s license. Work is outdoors in a physically demanding environment with safety policies in place.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.
• Must be able to operate or learn to operate maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform safely around mechanized equipment.
• Learn point-of-sale and cash handling systems; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Provide strong customer service and work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as log splitters, woodchippers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, pressure washers, air compressors, cart washers and wash bay equipment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
• Safely load, unload, process, and stock green waste products.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and tools.
• Provide courteous customer service to residents and visitors.
• Operate the computerized point-of-sale system and handle cash/credit transactions.
