Job summary

Recology is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee operations personnel and route drivers, ensuring efficient routing, safety, and timely service. The role involves directing workload, monitoring route performance, and resolving customer inquiries in collaboration with the team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred), valid driver's license, and proven management experience in waste/ recycling or logistics.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Management experience in waste industry/recycling programs, transportation, production and logistics operations or related field.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Assigns employees to routes and pickups for timely services and balances workload.
• Ensures route completions are accountable; analyzes routes and may implement changes.
• Monitors work to ensure efficient operations and enforces safety policies.
• Resolves customer service problems with drivers; handles complaints and inquiries.
• Assists in rate adjustments and resolves billing disputes with management approval.
• Generates and analyzes operational reports; makes recommendations.
• Advises on delinquent accounts and assists in collections.
• Performs or reviews pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Investigates and reports worker injuries, accidents, and incidents.
• Maintains time records and manages attendance with timely feedback.
• Drives trucks as needed and may back up dispatch duties.
• Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
