Job summary

Recology is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead operations personnel and route drivers on Tuesday–Saturday. You will assign routes, balance workloads, and ensure timely services while upholding safety and policy compliance.

You will analyze routes, respond to customer inquiries, participate in billing resolutions, and generate operational reports to drive improvements across the network.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Management experience in waste industry/recycling programs, transportation, production and logistics operations or related field.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operations personnel and routing drivers to ensure efficient operations.
• Assign employees to routes and special pickups for timely services; balance workload and arrange coverage.
• Analyze routes, make recommendations, and implement routing changes.
• Monitor work to ensure efficient operations; enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Resolve customer service problems with drivers; handle extras and billing inquiries.
• Respond to complaints and communicate with jurisdictional staff as needed.
• Assist in rate adjustments and resolve billing disputes with management approval.
• Generate and analyze operational reports and provide recommendations.
• Advise operations on delinquent accounts and assist collections.
• Perform or review pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Drive trucks when needed; ensure compliance with policies and collective bargaining agreement.

Education
