Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations. The role involves transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil with various heavy equipment, while adhering to safety standards.

The position requires 2 years of heavy equipment experience and at least 1 year at OSHA-regulated sites. A range of employee benefits and a pay range of $24.10–$33.10 per hour applies, with locality-based adjustments.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader per safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste in materials.
• Maintain equipment readiness and clean tracks or wheels as needed.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment and refer major issues for repair.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report necessary repairs.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Keep shop clean, serviced and stored at end of shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
