Job summary

EnviroSmartInc. in Sumter, SC is seeking a Waste Profile Coordinator to manage waste profiling, classification, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role ensures accurate waste material profiling for transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal.

The successful candidate will develop profiles for hazardous and non-hazardous streams, review lab data, and maintain records for audits. Occasional site visits and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or hazardous materials handling
• Strong understanding of hazardous waste regulations (RCRA preferred)
• Ability to interpret laboratory data and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain waste profiles for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams
• Review analytical data (e.g., lab reports) to determine proper waste classification
• Ensure waste profiles meet facility acceptance criteria
• Regulatory compliance with regulations such as RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state-specific requirements
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and inspections
• Track waste codes, manifests, and land disposal restriction (LDR) documentation
• Enter and maintain waste profile data in internal systems
• Prepare and review shipping papers, manifests, and profile approvals
• Coordinate with labs, generators, and disposal facilities
• Work with clients or internal departments to gather waste information
• Communicate discrepancies or missing data and resolve issues
• Provide guidance on waste packaging, labeling, and compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve waste handling, reduce costs, and enhance compliance
• Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions
