Job summary

PERMA FIX ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES INC seeks a Profile Verification Sampling technician to handle sampling of mixed waste, documentation, and storage under strict safety and QA standards. Responsibilities include log maintenance, container verification, and coordination with treatment chemists to meet analytic needs.

The role requires safety training, quality control, and accurate reporting of results using standard lab instruments, in a hands-on environment at PFF in Florida.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical field preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification with 8-hour refresher.
• 16-hour radiation safety training with 4-hour refresher.
• Working knowledge of RCRA waste codes and Chain of Custody procedures.
• Safety and PPE training as required by site rules.

Responsibilities

• Sample or inspect “As Received” mixed waste and maintain custody documentation.
• Maintain sampling log books and sample room records.
• Verify container integrity per Waste Acceptance Criteria before storage.
• Perform QA/QC on containers, labeling, and storage
• Decontaminate sampling equipment and room after each event.
• Organize and maintain sampling area for safety and compliance.
• Liaise with chemists to determine analytical needs for waste treatment.
• Receipt and tracking of various waste samples.
• Operate standard lab instruments after certification.
• Prepare and analyze lab standards and QC samples.
• Document procedures and results to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and manage hazardous waste.
• Interpret analytical results for quality and reporting.
