Job summary

CSS Inc is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to collect waste chemicals and Universal Wastes from CDC laboratories and transport them to storage areas. The role supports chemical segregation and temporary storage under supervision of the Project Manager.

You will enter waste data into the client’s database, perform compliance inspections, restock Spill Control Centers, and assist with spills. A 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, clean background, and valid driver's license are

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field.
Fluent reading/writing/speaking English.
Must pass background check to obtain HHS/CDC site badge.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Collect waste chemicals and Universal Wastes from CDC labs and workplaces and transport to storage areas.
Assist PM with chemical segregation and temporary storage for offsite shipment.
Enter and compile waste generation data into the client’s database.
Perform inspections of waste accumulation areas and provide follow-up reports.
Assist with spill cleanup procedures and spill response as needed.
Inspect Spill Control Centers monthly and restock supplies as needed.
Support sustainability by collecting recyclable materials from CSS waste activities.
