Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator at a post-collection site in the Boise area. The role involves monitoring waste volumes, determining billable content, processing payments, and recording transactions using scales and computer systems.

Responsibilities include rejecting loads when needed, depositing receipts, and coordinating with operations on special waste; the position requires attention to detail and strong cash handling skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a position requiring cash handling and balancing.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste load based on content; suggest alternatives based on special waste, type of waste and local market training.
• Receive payment from customers; provide receipt to customers.
• Balance the daily receipts and deposit them into the safe depository.
• Document waste entering the facility using truck scales and computer systems; track total waste.
• Notify operations of special waste or incoming loads; direct or dispatch as necessary; process required paperwork.
• Answer the telephone and provide information to callers.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
