Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor and record waste volumes entering the site and to collect appropriate fees from customers. The role involves documenting waste with scales and computer systems, ensuring accurate billing, and balancing daily receipts.

Responsibilities include accepting or rejecting loads based on content, handling payments, and maintaining operation records.

Qualifications

• Experience in a position requiring cash handling and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste load based on content; suggest alternatives.
• Receive payment from customers; provide receipts.
• Balance daily receipts; deposit into safe depository.
• Document waste entering facility using scales and systems; track totals.
• Notify operations of special waste; process required paperwork.
• Answer phones and provide information to callers.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
