Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor and record waste volumes and to collect appropriate fees at the entry point. You will determine load content for billing, accept or reject loads, and issue receipts while balancing daily cash and maintaining accurate records.

The role requires handling of cash, operating truck scales and computer systems, and coordinating with operations on special waste. Strong customer service and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste load and advise on alternatives based on waste type and local market training.
• Receive payment from customers and provide receipts.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit into the safe depository.
• Document waste entering the facility using truck scales and computer systems.
• Notify operations of special waste and direct or dispatch as necessary.
• Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
