Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Mauston, WI is hiring a driver/helper to collect solid waste and recyclables from customer sites and curbside routes, load materials into the truck, and assist with route safety and efficiency.

You will follow safety rules, wear PPE, and work with the supervisor to maintain route quality. High school diploma or GED is acceptable; a valid driver’s license is preferred. Pay is $22 per hour with benefits including health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and communication skills are required.
• Ability to follow safety and route instructions.
• Ability to operate equipment used in waste collection.

Responsibilities

• Collect solid waste/recyclables from customer premises or curbside.
• Load waste into the collection vehicle and assist with backing and maneuvering.
• Sort recyclables and ensure proper placement in truck compartments.
• Maintain safety practices and wear PPE at all times.
• Report issues to the driver and help improve routing efficiencies.
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as required by management.
