Job summary

Qualifications

• Follow safe operating practices on all tasks.
• Provide courteous and responsive customer service to residents and the public.
• Work well in a team to complete daily routes.
• Read, write, and understand daily reports and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist driver on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling.
• Load and unload waste, assist with trash carts, and operate basics safely.
• Maintain safe and courteous interactions with residents and the public.
• Ensure correct disposal of garbage and recyclables per route.
• Follow company safety policies and ANSI/OSHA guidelines.
• Assist driver with backing up the truck from ground when needed.
• Clean around the hopper and truck end of shift or as directed.
• Report safety or customer issues to driver or supervisor immediately.
• Perform cleanup of scattered refuse and assist with spill response.
• Be prepared to work during emergencies as needed.
• Assist other routes to complete daily work.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
