Responsibilities

  • Analyze OEM warranty-returned parts using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Process warranty return dispositions and documentation within customer systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor testing and evaluation of defective components.
  • Review warranty and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Document emerging product concerns and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and monitor progress of open warranty corrective actions through closure.
  • Develop and maintain warranty tracking, trending, and performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain process documentation per customer requirements and internal standards.

Client Overview

Our client is a global automotive supplier known for delivering innovative products and engineering solutions to leading OEM manufacturers. They are seeking a detail-oriented Warranty Engineer to support quality initiatives through product failure analysis, warranty trend evaluation, and corrective action management.

Overview

The Warranty Engineer serves as a key liaison between customers, quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to investigate warranty-related concerns. This role focuses on analyzing returned components, identifying root causes, monitoring corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This individual will lead warranty investigations, evaluate customer return data, identify trends, and coordinate corrective actions across internal departments. Success in this position requires a data-driven mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate technical findings effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze OEM warranty-returned parts utilizing structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Process warranty return dispositions and documentation within customer systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor testing and evaluation of defective components.
  • Review warranty and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Document emerging product concerns and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and monitor progress of open warranty corrective actions through closure.
  • Develop and maintain warranty tracking, trending, and performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain process documentation in accordance with customer requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Support development and communication of customer service bulletins.
  • Maintain dealership call logs and support customer issue resolution activities.
  • Participate in dealership and customer site visits for product evaluations and investigations as needed.
  • Travel approximately 5-10% to customer locations.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience analyzing data and identifying trends to support quality improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
  • Experience within automotive manufacturing, quality, warranty, or customer support environments.
  • Familiarity with OEM customer systems and portals, including:
    • BMW: b2b
    • Chrysler: PRAS, WIS/EWT, e-CIMS, SPX
    • Ford: WPRC, BASQ, AWS, GWC
    • GM: GART, PRTS
    • Nissan: Plex
    • Knowledge of Ubiquiti, Covisint, and other customer-specific systems.
    • Understanding of IATF/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental standards.
